About joint and mock examinations
Joint examinations are sat by groups of schools that organise a common paper and a common marking scheme, rather than each school setting its own internal test. Because every candidate in the group answers the same paper, results can be compared across schools in a way that internal mock results cannot. The sittings run ahead of the official NECTA examinations and are used by schools as a rehearsal: to identify weak subjects while there is still teaching time left, and to give candidates the experience of a timed, externally marked paper.
Who sets these papers
The results in this section come from school networks that run their own Form Two and Form Four sittings. TAHISCO, the Tanzania Heads of Islamic Schools Council, and CSSC, the Christian Social Services Commission, each organise examinations for their member schools. Each body is named as the source on its own pages, and results are kept separate by body rather than pooled, since the papers and marking are not shared between them.
How these differ from NECTA results
These are not official results. NECTA, the National Examinations Council of Tanzania, sets and marks the national examinations whose results determine selection and certification; nothing on these pages carries that standing. A candidate's joint or mock result does not appear on a NECTA certificate and does not affect a NECTA grade. Grades here should be read as an indicator of preparation, not as a prediction of the national result. For official results, see the CSEE and ACSEE sections.
